| I served in VISTA 1978-1979 in Rhode
Island |
| Travels- In addition to traveling all
over the USA, we have traveled to French Polynesia, Ecuador
(including the Galapagos), Iceland and all over
Western Europe. We lived for 1 1/2 years in Dublin, Ireland
and that provided easy access to the rest of Europe. |
| I have been working for social change
both professionally and though community activism. I had a
series of interesting jobs; community organizer, magician's
assistant, park ranger, painter, day camp director, fundraiser,
science camp instructor, etc. until 1987 when
I became a classroom teacher. I've been happily teaching
4-5-6th grades ever since. I have been a Title One reading
and math specialist. While living in Ireland I taught
English to refugees, founded a community center lending library,
and wrote for a national paper. Additionally, my partner,
Chris, and I have been working with our local community foundation
on issues of social and economic justice. |
